I’ve had this machine a few months now, because I wanted to give it a proper use before leaving my review. I bought this machine for free motion quilting, to use on my Freestyle quilting frame - I’d been using a Brother NV1800Q (which also doubles as my main sewing machine) but wanted more throat space.

I used the Novum straight out of the box to quilt a bed sized quilt, and I’m really impressed with it. I’ve used Brother machines for more than a decade and was a bit nervous to buy a machine from a brand unknown to me, but the Novum actually performs better than the Brother with quilting.

The Brother seemed to require a specific combination of needle, thread and speed to get good quality results, but the Novum performed perfectly with whatever combination I gave it - not a single skipped stitch, thread nest, or snapped thread throughout the whole quilt, not even over the thick seams.

I’m extremely impressed with it and am so glad I bought it. Yes it’s big, but it feels really solidly built and performed exactly what I asked of it without drama. 10/10, and if you’re thinking of buying it, you won’t be disappointed.

I bought this Pro Q9 instinctively after struggling to sew layered projects with my main machine. Well, I have to mention I’m really impressed! It produces excellent stitches, has a long arm for handling wider projects, and it effortlessly keeps up with my pedal speed.

I decided to upgrade from my Brother sewing machine, looking for a model with more arm space to accommodate everything from small projects to large quilts. The Novum Pro Q500 has met all my expectations! It includes every feature my Brother lacked: a knee lifter for hands-free presser foot control, faster sewing speeds, consistent stitches (even at high speeds), a built-in thread cutter, a drop-in bobbin and it's still computerised. I’ve even seen quilters use the Novum Pro Q500 on a long-arm rig to topstitch quilts. Although I was initially hesitant about the higher price, I’m thrilled with my choice. I did encounter some minor tension issues during the first few uses, but they quickly resolved, and I haven’t had any problems since. Right now, I’m working on a quilt for my daughter, and it’s coming together beautifully. I would absolutely purchase this machine again and look forward to adding a second Novum in the future, as well as making many quilts for my loved ones.

My husband saw this on your website and thought it would be a good fit, as I was looking for a new machine. Checked it out as machine site were new to me. Using the site was easy straight forward and quick once placed my order was quick to arrive. On arrival machine was as described and on using exceeded my expectation. Still learning with it but over the moon with it ,can give more info when I've used it more. Also received a courtesy email making sure it arrived which was a nice touch. Very easy to shop on line. Delighted with the Novum Pro 500q. I have upgraded from a domestic sewing machine. And am just studying all the quilting programs and books so I can enjoy quilting and have a bit of confidence to use the machine for its full potential.

I would not be able to afford this machine if I bought it from the manufacturers or another supplier. I received it within a couple of days of my order being processed. It was a very easy ordering experience. I love the fact that there is an option to split the payments into manageable chunks.I am new to sewing, and was a little bit nervous about ordering a brand New machine. The instructional videos on the site are excellent. They are also available on YouTube. The quick threading system and drop and sew bobbin feature are perfect for beginners. The machine itself is joy to use. There are choice of 500 stitches. Some of them are in think it's Chinese or Japanese fonts. They in their own right are very very pretty.I've had to ring the store a couple of times with questions, not about the machine, however I found the customer services excellent.I could not be happier with my purchase. I've shared details of the store with family and friends as I think they are highly recommendable.

My sister bought me this machine as I was looking for a slightly bigger one. I seen this and done loads of research on it but I just kept coming back to it. I knew I had to get it as it was the machine for me..I love how quiet it is and elegant and professional it looks. I haven't played around yet with the stitches or anything else on it. I make quilts and was the perfect machine. For me to experiment with.I would highly recommend this am hone as you get excellent value for money and definitely won't be disappointed.I shall leave another review once I have had it longer and played around with everything it has. But thank you GUR machines for such an excellent value for money machine and I have to say the delivery time was 100% quick.

This machine is terrific value for money. Good quality with lots of features and attachments that you might otherwise find on a much more expensive machine. It is stylish in looks and smooth and efficient in action.

I’m so pleased with this machine. It’s really easy to use and I’m really impressed with the features it offers. Pluses for me are the drop in bobbin and the start stop facility. There are loads of stitch patterns available too. It’s a little fiddly unscrewing the plate to access the parts to oil, but I think that’s me rather than the machine.

Biased in favour of Brother. I love this machine.

Purchased the Innovis F480 shortly after its introduction many years ago. Sadly in October of 2023 she met with a fatal accident. Looked at various machines in the range, decided the F580 would meet my needs. I can download and/or purchase additional embroidery designs as and when, A wide range of stitches to suit everyone from utility to embroidery and alphabets . Easy to use and understand. A novice could sew within an hour. There is guidance built into the machine. The manual is easy to read and follow, read through it first and try things out. Probably additional help on YouTube which I don't use. Staff at GUR were polite and helpful, delivery was as stated on time. Lovely, polite delivery man who said "I bet Santa is glad he's not delivering this!" It is a considered purchase but the F580 is worth every penny and more. Not yet used PE Design2 which came with the machine, look forward to trying it. My young kitten loved the packaging and he played with it for hours.

Purchased as a lightweight and sturdy machine to take to workshops, which if fulfils. Delighted with the range of stitiches, easy to drop feed dogs and the needle threader. A well made machine. I have a Jaguar overlocker and highly recommend this brand. Excellant value for the money.

I already own a janome sewing machine which has served me well for numerous years so it wasn’t a difficult decision to replace my old machine with a new janome and I opted for the 5060 QDC. This sturdy sewing machine is my 2nd one. It sews through thick layers of fabric, but handles the sheer fabrics with ease. I like it has a great array of stitches and a one step buttonhole facility.Would recommend this machine if you are a heavy user, I use mine 6 days a week

Was perusing machines for a friend getting back into sewing & came across the Jaguar DQS 405 & it was on offer (ex demo) at an excellent price. Husband bought it for me as when I bought my last machine, it was buy what's left due to the pandemic. It started me on my sewing journey, but, after using a computerised machine at a sewing class I was hankering after one. I am not disappointed. What a super machine. I was worried I wouldn't be able to get my head around the instructions, but, after playing around with the machine over a couple of sessions I've now sussed it. I don't know why I was worried. I just love everything about the machine, but, I especially love how you can control the speed compared to my mechanical machine.....I can be a bit heavy footed at times. Overall a fantastic machine in my view & well worth the money....even at full price. My order for the machine was fully straight forward, with great invoicing, replies to email & delivery too. Great all round service....thank you.

Nice easy machine to use, smooth action. Tried the button hole function and it did miss a couple of stitches, also the automatic threading is a little fiddly which kind of defeats the object. However, on the whole a good machine for the money.

just started to use my sewing machine Jaguar DQS405 it is so quiet just purrs forgive the pun ,also the needle threader is a life saver for me, my failing eye sight and shaking hands were making sewing very difficult but not anymore. A great machine and great company, would recommend.

I am getting to know my new sewing machine, so far so good, I found the walking foot easy to attach so now I am ready for the next patchwork class.

I am so pleased with the quality of the Janome HD9, it is so sturdy, solid, fast, easy to use and goes through thick seams like you'd expect from a HD machine. I like the separate bobin motor and it means that you don't have to unthread your machine to wind the bobin, it's set up with it's own thread holder. This machine only does straight stitch, no zig-zag, button holes etc etc but it is built to just sew, sew, sew! It is a heavy machine but I'm getting used to that, I think it would be best though, set up on a table or similar and left with it's cover over rather than having to lift and carry every time you want to sew but of course the weight of the machine is also a plus as it won't move about when you drag heavy fabric, leather or other materials through it.
