• I brought this machine a couple of weeks ago, used it for the first time tonight and the power supply is connected correctly as the light is on the machine but it is not sewing. Can someone advise please?

  • If the front cover is open, the machine is designed not to operate as a safety precaution. Unlike typical overlockers that lack this feature, those without it might accidentally start operating if the pedal is pressed during threading, posing a risk of injury to the user. The Novum Coverlock, however, will only function when the front is securely closed, making it a valuable safety feature.

• can you advise who manufactures the cover lock (Novum) machine. My research would suggest its changed hands and may now be Chinese product? Are parts easy to obtain?

  • The Novum brand was originally owned by Janome. Over ten years ago, we acquired the brand name from Janome, as they were no longer using it. Since then, we have been selling our own machines under the Novum brand name.

    The coverlock machine you are interested in is manufactured in Taiwan. It is worth noting that many other brands also produce their machines in Taiwan or China.
