How to take the stress out of sewing zips

Zips – or zippers, depending on your preference – often strike fear into the heart of the less experienced sewer. It can be so daunting and so fiddly, can’t it?

Well actually, it’s not as bad as you might think, as these lovely how-tos will demonstrate.

So relax, put the kettle on and leave behind your zippy anxieties…

We couldn’t agree more!

It can be found on the Sew Essential blog and the step by step process is demonstrated very clearly, with the close up photos being some of the clearest we’ve seen in a while.

Top tip: “For this method of invisible zip insertion you will need an invisible zip that is around 3” longer than the required finished length. This is crucial to avoiding sewing round the zipper and those ugly bubbles!”
