Her quilts are always personally labelled
Every now and again, we publish an example of interesting work undertaken by many of GUR’s wonderful customers, which they kindly send to us via our Facebook Page.
This particular example features Rita Mills’s wonderful “strippy quilt” as she calls it, who she made it for, and how she makes her creations highly individual.
Our thanks to Rita for this deeply personal account…
“I made this quilt on a Janome sewing machine for my sister in law who was ill with cancer. Sadly she has since passed away, so this quilt will be passed down to her granddaughter.”
“I always label my quilts with the date and who it was made for.
“I attended a quilting group and this took me many hours to make. I especially love the top panel as it makes me think of holidays, and my sister in law loved holidays.
“The quilt is made with 100% cotton: I enjoyed making this as I knew she would appreciate the love with which it was made. She did!
“Giving something away you have made is extra special because you are giving your time.”
