Metallic thread used for embroidery, but it “wasn’t easy” says Sandra

How their Brother machine came up trumps with Richard and Sandra’s latest embroidery challenge

We’ve featured one of sewing’s dynamic duos Sandra and Richard Davis previously as they keep us up-to-date with their latest sewing achievements.

Sandra sent us some wonderful images of her face masks, which they began producing for carers a couple of months ago.

The image at the top of there page show’s Richard’s latest achievement – some wonderful embroidery using metallic threads – something they weren’t sure that even their trusty Brother machine could cope with.

The good news it that it did – as you can see from the photo, though Sandra admits it “wasn’t easy”, but that the potential pitfalls were overcome by what she describes as “her amazing machine”.

And true to form, she’s also sent images of her latest carer’s face masks. Sandra said,

“The butterfly material is gorgeous – perfect for face masks! We purchased it from GUR Sewing Machines.”
