NHS Trust the beneficiary of massive sewing effort by group
GUR Sewing Machines is pleased to be a part of Scrubs for Stoke‘s incredible achievement of providing 3,000 sets of scrubs in under 3 months – and would like to express their gratitude for the touching “thank you” received recently.
The scrubs, and thousands of bags, hairbands and hats, have been produced by them for the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust – an incredible achievement in so short a period of time!
About Scrubs for Stoke
The group is one of a number of extraordinary alliances around the UK at the moment, with people all over the country working night and day to help ensure that medical clothing and PPE levels are maintained as much as possible.
Their 5th May press release stated
“Just over a month ago a handful of determined women who had never even met before decided to try and raise enough money and recruit enough volunteers to sew 2000 scrubs for the UHNM Trust.
“It seemed ambitious; to address the shortfall and help the NHS staff be safer and more comfortable we’d need to raise £8500 just to cover the fabric costs.
“The community of Staffordshire surpassed our wildest dreams and to date we have raised over £14000 and delivered over 2800 sets of scrubs to the hospitals along with 8000 bags, plus hairbands and hats.”
Since then, they’ve surpassed their target by 50% – and they’re still going!
Scrubs for Stoke, we salute you!
