Brother L14 is a traditional metal chassis product from Brother, perfect for basic dressmaking, repairs and alterations.

The lightweight but sturdy Brother L14 has an easy to use single dial stitch selector with a choice of 14 true stitches for both utility and decorative sewing - straight, zig zag, blind hem, darning/mending, shell tuck, scallop, double action and bridging stitches. Plus an automatic 4-step buttonholer.

The Brother L14 product has the convenient top loading bobbin mechanism which not only takes the hassle out of bobbin changing, but is smooth and quiet and is far more reliable when sewing heavy and more extreme fabrics compared to similarly priced front loading bobbin machines.

Of course, the Brother L14 product has a reverse function for securing the ends of your seams and an easy flat bed / free arm conversion for trouser hems and other difficult to reach areas. With a traditional metal chassis, easy top loading bobbin and straight forward operation, you can be assured that the Brother L14 is designed and built around the values that you know and expect from a Sewing Machine.

If the Product develops a fault within the guarantee period which has been caused by defective materials or poor workmanship, we will arrange the collection, repair and return at no cost to the customer. Please retain the original packing materials, in case your item has to be returned to us. In the event that the item should need to be returned to ourselves and the original packaging has not been retained,you will be responsible for any costs incurred by couriers to return the machine to ourselves. This does not affect your statutory consumer rights and excludes expendable parts (such as needles, bulbs, belts, needle threaders, cutting knives, loopers, embroidery frames), normal wear and tear, negligence and misuse, as stated on the manufacturers guarantee document. The collection and return cover applies to UK mainland addresses only.

Damage caused by incorrect installation, incorrect or inappropriate use, misuse, negligence or accident (including, but not limited to, the transport of this product without proper preparation or packaging); and
Damage caused by other non-Brother devices or programmes used together with this product (including, but not limited to, the use of consumable items and accessory items).
This warranty shall become INVALID if this product is altered in any way (including, but not limited to, as a result of attempted warranty repairs without Brother's authorisation or alteration or removal of the serial number).

Does this machine come with a 1/4 inch foot? If not, is one available to fit it? Sylvia

Answer 1 : Unfortunately the machine does not come with a 1/4 inch seam foot. However there is one available to purchase which will fit your machine, F001 is the 1/4 inch quilting piecing foot, F057 is 1/4 inch quilting piecing foot with guide.

I was recommended this sewing machine by a seamstress for me to get back into sewing, but to be advanced enough not to outgrow too soon. I was useful on a sewing machine at school, its been a while but this machine is easy to set up and use, I was sewing again in no time. The DVD that came with it is really useful to get your started. The metal body of the machine means it is weighty enough not to be moving around whilst sewing. Very pleased.
